Gigantic, fire-breathing Praying Mantis!

Las Vegas, if you've ever heard of it, is a pretty neat place; there's nice weather, plenty of great out-door activities, lots of entertainment, and a really good cinnamon roll place on the west side of town called "Cinnaholic". There's also this wonderful and ... eclectic... little place called Fremont Street East, it's a magic place filled with a tapestry of things that hipsters like. I'm no hipster, but I say, to each their own; it's good those folks have something special. Anyhoo, FiveSix Productions recently got to do an early morning shoot on Fremont Street where "old Las Vegas" mixes with the new. There's iconic hotels such as the 75+ year old El Cortez, and a gigantic, fire-breathing Praying Mantis near the relatively young, Container Park. The old architecture, glowing neon, and local art that adorns the buildings, all mix together to create a great environment to capture some really beautiful images. For your next Las Vegas video production, consider getting away from the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas Blvd., and head on down to downtown and Fremont Street; and, hey, if you need a helping hand, give FiveSix Productions a call, we'll be happy to join you.

Orange County video production

In an effort to reduce confusion, we're changing our official description from Los Angeles Video Production Company of Orange County to simply Orange County Video Production Company of Orange County.

Southern California, if you haven't noticed, is a big place, and there's never a shortage of video production work to be done. It's not just big budget films in Hollywood with explosions, lasers, beautiful movie stars, and all that- there is production everywhere. From Irvine to Thousand Oaks to San Bernardino, and all points between, there's a bountiful bouquet of commercials, corporate work, web videos, short films, documentaries, etc.

While we dream of Hollywood stardom like the next guy and gal, we here at FiveSix Productions love what we do, and where we do it. Producing industry-leading content, while striving to become the best Orange County video production company is what we're all about.

Our team and network of professionals have decades of experience in every aspect of the production process. From nurturing and developing your initial idea, throughout the final edit, we work relentlessly to deliver beyond your expectations. From our office in Long Beach, we're centrally located in the Los Angeles/Orange County metroplex, and we're excited to work with you on your next project!

NAB 2017 - The Tilta Nucleus-M

While walking the isles of NAB 2017 we had a few things on our mind.

Now the proud owners of a set of Schneider Xenar IIIs, I am presented with a new problem. How can we keep the crew's hands off of our new lenses? Our good friend, DP David C. Smith recommended the first thing we go out and buy is a wireless follow focus. Perfect. In comes the Tilta Nucleus-M.

We strolled thru the Arri and Chroziel booth but decided we should do some walking since we are on a Ramen budget. We found ourselves at DJI, where we immediately got distracted by the new drones and gimbals.

The number of new products was overwhelming. To take a break from the window shopping we decided to visit our friends at Cinebags. While chatting with the crew there something caught our eye. Just across the walkway, in the Tilta booth, was our answer.

The Tilta Nucleus-M.

This new product satisfied all of our needs and at $1200 it meets our stringent budget. This will be great on the gimbal as well as our C300 MKII rigs. We immediately put an order in for the kit plus an extra motor. We can't wait to give it a go this summer. Tilta is planning on shipping these units July 2017.

FiveSix Productions Tangos with Cinebags

FiveSix Productions has a soft spot for the folks over at Cinebags; their line of production bags not only protects and serves our precious gear, it also looks great while doing it!

Recently, FiveSix Productions had the opportunity to work with Cinebags on a new set of videos to showcase their awesome line of products, and we had a blast doing it. It was great to break out the Dana Dolly, and some of our specialty lenses, and really get our creative minds working. Coupled with some dope beats and fat tracks, and there's no way these videos will be anything less than spectacular. For your next Las Vegas video production, or anywhere you want to take our gear, you'll be shooting with the finest, and carrying it in style- Cinebags' motto is "Life on Location", and we here at FiveSix Productions want to help you get there.

California Love

FiveSix Productions loves, and is proud of our home state: Nevada... but we also love California! The beaches, the mountains, the cities, stars, and palm trees. So, we are excited, each and every time we get to cruise out there. Recently, we had such an opportunity, and were able to jet out to Los Angeles. While we were tackling a bit of a sad subject for most of our shoot, there were some bright and positive aspects, and we got to work with one of our favorite clients. We even found time to visit our friends at Cinebags and head up to the Griffith Observatory and catch a classic Hollywood sunset (complete with L.A. smog). Until next time, we'll be here in Sin City, doing our Las Vegas video production thing. Oh, have your people call my people, we'll do lunch.

FiveSix Productions Uses Protection

Don't be a fool, wrap your tools: great advice that we here at FiveSix Productions take seriously. We utilize a number of great products to store and transport our various tools and pieces of gear; from Cinebags for our cameras, to Pelican and SKB for our tripods, Dana Dolly, and DJI products. One of our favorites for custom designed cases is Jason Cases in Durham, North Carolina. Jason Cases utilizes only the best products, and while they have predesigned cases, they are the best at customizing any case to fit your exact needs. We are huge fans of this for our kits that have a lot of separate pieces that can get lost, or pieces that are fragile. Their quick turnaround time ensures even if you're a Las Vegas video production company like us, you'll have your order very quickly. So, next time you need a durable, custom case, reach out to Jason Cases, and they'll get you set up.

New CineBags

Every time FiveSix Productions heads out to L.A., we like to get in touch with our good friends at CineBags. Recently, we acquired a few new light panels that are just awesome, so, CineBags founder and owner Markus Davids hooked us up with some prototype bags that are a perfect fit for our 1x1 light panels. These bags are made with the same quality and functional design that we have grown to love and expect from CineBags. In fact, CineBags is the only bag that FiveSix Productions uses for our cameras, computers, external monitors, recorders, and now, light panels. We are honored that Markus has let us give these rare bags a go, and we're sure we'll love them, and they'll go into regular work, shoot after shoot. (Oh, and, happy St. Paddy's Day!)

Here's a fun CineBags video from our hermanos over at F11 Rentals:

Our new camera bags - The High Roller

We decided on purchasing the Cinebags High Roller for all of our C300 and PMW-300 Camera Packages. The Lens Smuggler has been a great accessory to transport our lenses and additional gear as a carry on. The quality is what you would expect from a high end manufacturer. The Zippers and stitching are built to withstand heavy use. I personally love that there is a little more depth to the main compartment over the previous version the Camera Daddy. Because of the added space we can now store the C300 camera with the top handle as well as the 24-70 lens on the camera. This allows for quicker setups and I think the less we can take the lens on and off the body the better. Oh almost forgot... These new bags have a telescoping handle and wheels. No more lugging a 30lb. Camera bag on my shoulder running from plane to plane. Also, while we are on the topic of traveling. I have to mention the lens smuggler allows us to bring a variety of lenses and stash them under the seat very comfortably. It is slightly thicker than the laptop case but not one airline worker has given it a second look. A highroller and the lens smuggler are a great combination. One carry on and one personal item. We are very glad to have these new bags and I expect them to be a valuable tool for us for the life of our cameras.

Our new lineup of Camera Bags

Camera bag for the Canon C300

With our new camera in hand we wanted to find the right case to transport it. For our day to day shoot we opted for the Cinebags camera daddy. The bag holds comfortably the camera body and 4 lenses and accesories. We considered the Pelican 1660 case, I loved the build quality and protection it offered but we would have needed another case just for lenses. I'm sure we will pickup one of these cases for when we travel.
