FiveSix Productions Isn't Afraid of the Dark
Happy Halloween! In the spirit of the holiday, with all it's dark and creepy glory, FiveSix Productions ventured into the deserts outside of Las Vegas, and had some fun in the dark. Along with some technology designers and armed forces veterans (thank you for your service), we got to check out some of the latest and greatest in low-light, visual technology. From the staple night-vision scopes, to thermal imaging, and even some revolutionary new technology that left us stunned, we got to see it all. We wish we could share some more information and some photos about all that we did and saw, but unfortunately it's "G-7" classified. We can tell you that we had a great time filming all the equipment, and enjoyed working with one of our favorite actors. Our studio is a disaster after a busy week of Las Vegas video production, and these projects won't edit themselves, so we'll see y'all real soon. Happy Halloween you goblins and ghouls.
Green Screen Season!
Even though the autumn busy season is considerably shorter than the spring busy season, that doesn't mean we don't get our fair share of green screen shoots.
This week, we were deep into the "World of Watson" convention at the Mandalay Bay Resort here in Vegas. We have green screen crews, white screen crews, ENG and man-on-the-street, all doing their thing, making video magic. Lighting a green screen correctly takes more than a smile and wink, that's why we make sure to bring our best grip and lighting folks to help us deliver a superb product. If your Las Vegas video production leaves you needing any of the aforementioned, give us a shout, and we'll be happy to help.
FiveSix Productions Agrees to Disagree
Yesterday, Las Vegas was the center of the American Political Future! The two candidates for POTUS exchanged verbal and psychological fisticuffs last night over at the Thomas and Mack Center on the campus of UNLV, and FiveSix Productions had crews about the town covering all the angles. From "Public Expression Zones" on campus, to Las Vegas Boulevard, and even a Debate Watch Party over at the Palazzo, we were there to drink it all in. We didn't mind all the road closures and traffic associated with the event, as we're easily distracted by shiny things and colors; and with all the shiny police cars, badges, red and blue flashing lights, and lovely secret service and FBI all over the place, we had plenty to look at. Our only sadness comes with the fact that we can't do it again today, and we'll have to wait another four years to even have a chance; we just hope Las Vegas did a good enough job to merit such a treat. We are strong in our convictions however, and we're trudging forward with heads held high, onto our next, exciting, Las Vegas video production gig. Go 'merica!
It's Happening Again!
Oh gosh, it's happening again! The fellas at FiveSix Productions are about to get all crazy, level-7 confidential, CIA/KGB, can't talk about it or... you know... again. They're headed out to somewhere we can't talk about, doing something you don't want to know about, with some people regular folks have never heard of. All I can tell you is nothing, and all I can show you is this photo that could be any random Tuesday morning. Look... we hope they make it back alive, but... let's just say, it's been real.
Something Mysterious
There have been recent... bizarre sightings in Las Vegas lately- and no, I'm not talking about the GOP or DNC's Presidential hopefuls (though, they are a couple bizarre characters). 84.9% of land in Nevada is owned by the federal government, and Lord knows what they do with it; but just as in Arizona and New Mexico, rumors of flying saucers, aliens, military tests, etc., constantly abound. Add to all of this, the craziness of the "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" m.o. that we have going here, and you can imagine all the interesting and intriguing things that pop up from time to time. One such photo hit my desk over the weekend.
Of course, my first reaction was- Metro must be grilling some punk from EDC. Then I thought, no... no that's not it, he's wearing a suit. So, then I thought, the FBI is interrogating some international motorcycle gang leader who is trying to establish roots here in the casinos or entertainment industry. But that doesn't make sense, there's no bike in the photo. So, then I went where I should have from the beginning, it's an alien. That made the most sense when I got the second photo, which clearly shows a statue of what must be his idol, Boba Fett, just over his shoulder.
Time will tell if we're about to be invaded and most likely enslaved- seems like Will Smith should have come back for the sequel. Well, I'm going to go pack a suitcase and get ready to escape to the hills. Godspeed to all my Las Vegas video production friends... even the Canadians, I guess.

FiveSix Productions Works in Shadows
This past week, FiveSix Productions spent some time in the shadows of some of the biggest vehicles in the world! We had the pleasure of shooting at MINExpo International 2016, and got to see and learn all about the mining world. From computer systems that enable machines to work autonomously to machines that are nearly three stories tall, and everything sharp, powerful, and ingenious in between, we touched on all of it. We here at FiveSix Productions are no strangers to the convention floor, as that's a huge portion of all Las Vegas video production work, since conventions drive the local (and, realistically, state economy), so we made sure to bring out A-game. It was a blast working with a great client, and learning a lot of interesting factoids about mining. We're getting ready for another busy week, so, until next time, keep those sensors clean.
