The Edelkrone SliderPLUS
Having a dolly or slider on set can make a world of difference in the overall value of your production; sometimes, however, there is not enough time, space, or budget to allow for such things- enter the Edelkrone SliderPLUS. A Great New Filter
Some of our friends from back east were here in Vegas shooting with us a week ago, and they introduced us to an awesome new lens filter. Vid-Atlantic is offering a great lens filter that provides JJ Abrams looks, for NYU-film student budgets, well, maybe Edward Burns budgets. The CineMorph & Anamorphic Bokeh filters come in two different sizes, two different filter choices (bokeh only, or bokeh and flare-streak!), and of course, a myriad of colors. The filters all run under one-hundred dollars, and can add a very cool look to your movie, music video, b-roll, or whatever you're trying to spice up. The Artist Series: Martin Scorsese
This edition of "the artist series" focuses on, at least in this writer's opinion, one of the best directors ever: Martin Scorsese. Mr. Scorsese is director of such gems as "Raging Bull", "Taxi Driver", "The Departed", "Goodfellas", "Casino", and many more. Some characteristics of his films include long tracking shots, freeze frames, and frequent slow motion. Scorsese is also known for the abundant violence, heavy use of profanity, and focus on subjects such as crime, violence, and the Catholic view of guilt and redemption. Scorsese found success early on while earning bachelors and masters degrees in film from New York University; it was there that he made multiple, successful short films that lead to early work on films like "Who's That Knocking at My Door" and "Mean Streets". Scorsese became friends with the "super-group" of film makers De Palma, Coppola, Lucas, and Spielberg, which gave him the opportunity to work with such greats as De Niro. Throughout his career, Scorsese has brought people from all walks of life deep into the worlds of his various films in such an authentic, raw way that has certainly left an indelible mark on our imagination and spirit. Whatever new journey is in store for us via Martin Scorsese will surely be a great one.
